The biggest airline of Argentina and its flagship carrier, Aerolíneas Argentinas was founded in 1949 and has provided passengers with flights to over 60 destinations for more than 65 years. Originally created from the merger of four companies, in 1950 the airline set up a route from Buenos Aires to Frankfurt, connecting South America to Germany for the first time since 1933. In the early 1950s, the airline took possession of its first jetliners to service the company's 57,000 km in routes.
In 2008, Aerolíneas Argentinas was bought by the Argentinian Government and has been state-owned ever since. With headquarters in Buenos Aires, the airline has a fleet size of 56, including Boeing 737-700 and 800s to service domestic routes. International routes are serviced by Airbus A330s and A340s and fly to destinations in South and North America, Europe, Africa and New Zealand.
The company employs more than 11,000 people and in 2012 joined the SkyTeam alliance of airlines to further expand its connections and give South America easier access to Europe, the Caribbean and Africa.
Passengers flying economy or domestic routes can watch the onboard entertainment on large screens throughout the cabin. All flights over 2 hours offer meals and beverages, including Argentinian wine and continental cuisine that includes vegetarian options.
Customers who choose to fly with the airline's premium economy service Club Economy are also given the choice of preferred seating options, flexible rates and access to the pre-departure saloons.
Club Condor Business Class customers receive truly excellent service and total luxury, including individual entertainment screens, adjustable seats, access to a satellite phone and a fantastic range of catering options including fine wines, liquors and champagne.
Passengers are able to check in for their Aerolíneas Argentinas flight online from any device and print their boarding pass at home or at the kiosks at the airport to save the stress of waiting in long lines.
