Mexico's Premier Airline Aeroméxico
The flag carrier airline of Mexico (operating out of its hub in Mexico City), Aeroméxico has services to over 80 destinations, flying both within Mexico and to cities across the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Carribean. It is the largest airline in Mexico and currently employs a crew of over 14,000.
Originally founded as Aeronaves de México in 1934, the company grew over the next few decades, with the carrier being nationalized in 1959. Over the years, it was among the first airlines to purchase new airplane technologies, and it has always been at the forefront of innovation. In 1988, after many acquisitions, the airline had expanded beyond its reach and was bought out by a new company and renamed Aeroméxico. Operating at the cutting-edge of Aero technology, the airline offers WiFi and streaming services on-board, and they are the first airline on the continent to offer customers the opportunity to book their flights via chatbot and virtual assistant on social media.
The current fleet of 72 planes consists of both Embraer and Boeing technology including the luxurious modern Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. These aircraft fly 20 million people per year to destinations around the world, and the airline is about to launch a new service that connects Mexico to Seoul, South Korea.
