Royal Brunei Airlines
Royal Brunei Airlines is wholly owned by the government of Brunei and has been since the company originated on 18th November 1974. Their first commercial flight took place on 14th May 1975 from Brunei to Singapore, with further departures to Eastern Malaysia and Hong Kong taking place on the same day. The purchase of a third aircraft in 1980 led to an expansion of routes offering passengers the ability to fly to Australia. A distinctive new logo and aircraft livery was revealed in May 2012, immediately recognisable by the deep yellow colour. Pleased to be the national flag carrier of Brunei Darussalam, the airline's hub is based at Brunei International Airport.
From an initial fleet of only two Boeing 737 aircraft, Royal Brunei Airlines now boasts ten modern aeroplanes flying to 17 destinations, including London, Dubai, Melbourne and Jeddah. The airline was the first company to operate the B787 Dreamliner with its flight to Singapore on the 18th October 2013.
An indication of the popularity of Royal Brunei Airlines is their nomination in the British Travel Awards 2017 for the category of Best Eastbound Long Haul Airline. This reflects their commitment to providing a restful on-board experience and tranquil flight, emphasising their distinguished high-class passenger service. The Skylounge at Brunei International Airport, exclusive to first class and business class passengers, creates a relaxing atmosphere in which to begin an unforgettable journey.
Royal Brunei Airlines recognises that safety and comfort are uppermost in the minds of their satisfied passengers, and uses state of the art technology to confidently take its place as one of the world's most popular and dynamic providers of flights to and from South East Asia and around the globe.
